Prepping for the 2025 Car Show Season: Attention to Every Detail
As the 2025 car show season approaches, our team has been hard at work preparing our 2014 BMW 428i Hardtop Convertible for its time in the spotlight. This isn’t just about making the car look good; it’s about restoring it to its absolute best, protecting every surface, and ensuring it reflects the care and precision we bring to every project.
We’re starting with the glass, removing water spots and cloudiness that have built up over time. After carefully polishing to restore clarity, we’ll coat the glass with Beadlock by Shine Supply to ensure it stays clear and resists water for months to come.
The paintwork is next in line. Using the Rupes LXR15 polisher, we’ll tackle the surface imperfections with a multi-stage polish. The cutting stage, featuring Jescar Cutting Compound paired with a Meguiar’s DMC5 cutting pad, will remove oxidation and scratches. We’ll then refine the surface with Sonax Perfect Finish and a Rupes Yellow foam pad, leaving the paint smooth and vibrant. To protect the finish, we’ll wrap the front end in Paint Protection Film (PPF) and coat the entire car—painted and PPF areas alike—with Crystal Serum Ultra by Gtechniq, a ceramic coating that offers unparalleled gloss and long-lasting protection.
But we’re not stopping there. The exterior plastics will be treated with Permanent Trim Restore by Gtechniq, bringing them back to their original deep, rich appearance and shielding them from UV damage. Under the hood, we’ll steam clean the engine bay to remove grime and buildup, followed by a ceramic coating on all plastic surfaces to keep them protected and easy to maintain.
The wheels are also getting their moment of attention. We recently fitted the car with a set of Konig “Intention” 18″ wheels in Glass Black with a Machined Face. To preserve their fresh look and shield them from brake dust and road grime, we’ll apply Wheel Armor by Gtechniq, a ceramic coating specifically designed for wheels.
Inside the car, the interior woodgrain trim will be polished with the Rupes 1″ Nano Polisher and a Rupes 1″ Yellow foam pad to remove scratches and restore its natural luster. The leather surfaces will be cleaned thoroughly with Tri-Clean and L2 Foaming Leather Cleaner, conditioned with Dr. Beasley’s Leather Cream, and protected with Leather Guard by Gtechniq to keep them soft, supple, and stain-resistant. Meanwhile, the carpets and fabrics will be steam cleaned and extracted to eliminate embedded dirt and odors, then treated with Smart Fabric by Gtechniq to repel future stains and spills.
Each of these steps is carefully planned and executed, ensuring no detail is overlooked. From the polished glass to the conditioned leather, every element of this BMW will showcase the craftsmanship and care we bring to our work. By the time it’s ready, this car will be more than just show-ready—it will be a testament to the precision and passion behind Divergent Elite Detailing.

The 2025 Corvette ZR1: Engineering Marvel with a Heart
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 isn’t just a car; it’s a masterclass in design, performance, and purpose. As the most powerful production Corvette ever, it boasts a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine—the LT7—producing a staggering 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. This engineering marvel rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds when equipped with the ZTK performance package and reaches speeds north of 215 mph, cementing its place in the upper echelon of supercars.
While the ZR1’s capabilities are awe-inspiring, it’s the story of its debut that truly sets it apart. At the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, the very first production model, VIN 001, was sold for a jaw-dropping $3.7 million. Every dollar of the sale was donated to the American Red Cross to support disaster relief efforts for communities impacted by hurricanes and other crises. This incredible act of generosity reflects Chevrolet’s dedication to making a difference beyond the road and racetrack.
Scott Bell, Vice President of Global Chevrolet, summed it up perfectly: “The historic sale of this American icon benefits people whose lives have been deeply impacted by disasters across the country.” The ZR1, introduced to an enthusiastic crowd by Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder, was ultimately purchased by Rick Hendrick, the CEO of Hendrick Companies and a longtime Corvette enthusiast. The event not only highlighted the ZR1’s desirability but also Chevrolet’s commitment to its community.
The ZR1 also nods to its rich history while looking ahead to the future. Its split rear window, a tribute to the legendary 1963 Corvette Stingray, ties it to its iconic lineage. At the same time, advanced aerodynamics, state-of-the-art cooling systems, and precise engineering showcase its bold step forward. The 2025 ZR1 is an extraordinary blend of past, present, and future, solidifying its status as an American supercar.

Spotlight on the 1978 Corvette Pace Car: A Collector’s Dream
The 1978 Corvette Pace Car holds a special place in automotive history as the first Corvette to officially pace the Indianapolis 500. Celebrating Corvette’s 25th anniversary, only 6,502 units were produced, making it a true limited-edition gem. Featuring a striking two-tone black and silver paint scheme with red pinstriping, custom spoilers, and embroidered seats, this model became an instant icon.
Powered by either the base L48 350-cubic-inch V8 or the sought-after L82 high-performance engine, the Pace Car wasn’t just a showpiece—it offered thrilling performance for its time. Demand was so high that dealerships marked prices up to $20,000 or more over the $13,653 MSRP.
This particular 1978 Corvette Pace Car recently came through our shop with just 1,000 miles, and the goal was to get her show-ready. We performed a full-body polish to remove oxidation and scratches, restoring the original luster of the iconic two-tone paint. The car was then protected with Crystal Serum Ultra ceramic coating by Gtechniq, ensuring long-lasting shine and durability. We also ceramic coated the glass and wheels, adding an extra layer of protection and making this collector car truly stand out at any event.
Fast forward to today, the 1978 Pace Car remains a highly collectible classic, especially low-mileage examples like this one. A pristine model can command upwards of $75,000 to $90,000+ in today’s market, particularly with the rare L82 engine and original documentation.
For collectors and enthusiasts, this Corvette is more than a car—it’s a piece of history. Whether displayed as a showroom centerpiece or enjoyed on the open road, the 1978 Corvette Pace Car continues to turn heads and spark admiration.
